US annouces 2009 Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery

In a statement this week, the US Public Affairs Officer in Harare, Paul Engelstad said this unique program offers an opportunity to receive an immigrant visa to the United States (Green Card) for natives of most countries including Zimbabwe, who are selected through a world-widelottery.

The statement said the registration would begin on October 3, 2007 and continue until December 2, 2007 and the entire lottery would be conducted electronically.

Countries that send large numbers of immigrants to the United States are ineligible to participate in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program. These countries include, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland born),Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru the Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.

    Hi I have heard that the dv lottery 2009 results are announced is that realy or not ? please is that true please inform me because I have applied on Wednesday Nov/7/2007

    So i think that I will win because this is the first time I have applied for Green Card Lottery
