If you happen to be in the Wilkes Barre area then I’d encourage you to attend this event. It would be nice to see if this is going to turn into an accusation laden event where all Hispanics are labeled as rapists and murderers. Generally when we speak of an area laden with crime we’re talking about violence and a general lack of safety. However, since it is “illegal” to be here illegally then you could define an area with a high volume of illegal immigrants a crime laden area. So how will Voice Of The People define it and what exactly are they supporting – removing illegals immigrants or removing violent criminals?
This Saturday, October 6th, beginning at 6:00pm at the corner Stanton and Sherman St. in Wilkes Barre, the Wilkes Barre Rolling Hills Mill section Crime watch and Voice of the People will be holding a press conference. County Commissioner Steve Urban and several community leaders, as well as members of Voice of the People, will be speaking to demand more police action in this crime ridden neighborhood. Senators Specter and Casey, Congressman Kanjorski and Carney, and State Rep Pashinski will be notified that they will be expected to take action to secure more funding for local law enforcement to help protect and clean up the area for the people and families living in this crime ridden neighborhood, people who live in fear and disgust of the area around them.
If you are in the area and able to attend, we surely hope that you will get there as this area and the people who live there need your help and support to overcome this crippling problem. Hope to see you there. For anymore details, please e mail us and we will be happy to answer any of your questions.
