I admittedly have no clue how Valley Harvesting and Packing runs their business, but the reality is this company needed migrant workers to provide this country with food. Not able to secure these workers they simply moved their business down to Mexico. Of course, Vally Harvesting is simply joining the ranks of GM and Hershey’s who have also moved plants down to Mexico. How is this good for our economy? How much money do we lose from our GNP when so many companies are producing their products on foreign soil?
Why would we be so adamant against guest workers if the relationship is mutually beneficial? Are their really American workers willing to do this work? If so, how much should they be paid and are Americans willing to accept the additional cost consumers must bear?
