For the third year in a row, the refugee and immigrant community joined with local friends and neighbors to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day at a pot luck and dance at Memorial Middle School Sunday afternoon.
Umija and Rasim Gusinac left Bosnia seven years ago and said they celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King because, like themselves, he had a dream.

Friday’s Martin Luther King Jr.”Living the Dream” awards breakfast in downtown Phoenix was seasoned with references to tolerance of immigration in Arizona.
More than 1,200 people attended the 22-year-old event that started with a 5K run and inspirational speeches at the Phoenix Convention Center.
