Barletta not only suffers from narcissism, but he’s trying to grab on to the issue of immigration as much as possible to keep his name in the news. He chastises the candidates refusal to visit him as if they were obligated to do so. What makes Barletta more important than the many other mayors in Pennsylvania? Just because he believes that blaming migrants for his city’s woes doesn’t mean the candidates have to give him a visit. Maybe, mayor, they don’t want to be harassed like that poor Hispanic reporter at the Hazleton rally last year or maybe they don’t want to suffer a deep depression upon witnessing your towns deplorable condition. Why are you only known for anti-migrant sentiment? What else have you done? Well, he does have nice hair.
Barletta defends judge’s English sentence, chides candidates for Hazleton snub – Times Leader

HARRISBURG BUREAU CHIEF
HARRISBURG — Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta waded into a sentencing controversy Monday saying a Luzerne County judge acted in several defendants’ best interests by giving them the option of learning English or going to jail.
He defended Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr.’s decision last week in a case involving three men who faced prison for criminal conspiracy to commit robbery. Olszewski said the men could remain on parole if they learn to read and write English, earn their GEDs and get full-time jobs.
This is great. While many migrants are fighting for an education a judge in Pennsylvania is forcing it upon these men. This just shows that we do need the DREAM Act. Hey people, there are thousands wanting an education – why not support them instead of simply congratulating a judge for forcing legal aliens to speak English.
