I hope if Keyes is going to ride on an anti-migrant platform that he’ll see the same fate as other politicians who have tried. If these politicians want to rant about illegal immigration then let’s discuss some ways to help people and not simply raid and deport..
Keyes to reveal plans in Hazleton – Standard Speaker

By TOM RAGAN
Former GOP presidential candidate Alan Keyes has apparently picked Hazleton as the place where he’ll tell why he left the Republican Party and why he is ready to accept the nomination for president from the Constitution Party.
Keyes will make “a major announcement” about his intentions Tuesday, according to his Web site. He is planning a press conference at “the Best Western hotel in Hazleton, Pa.,” the site reports.
A representative of Genetti Best Western Inn and Suites on Route 309 in Hazle Township said, as of Wednesday afternoon, the Keyes campaign had not reserved space for Tuesday.
Here’s a link to information about this event.
Just in case your not sure where the Constitution Party stands on immigration here is an excerpt from their website:
The Constitution Party demands that the federal government restore immigration policies based on the practice that potential immigrants will be disqualified from admission to the U.S. if, on the grounds of health, criminality, morals, or financial dependence, they would impose an improper burden on the United States, any state, or any citizen of the United States.
We oppose the provision of welfare subsidies and other taxpayer-supported benefits to illegal aliens, and reject the practice of bestowing U.S. citizenship on children born to illegal alien parents while in this country.
We oppose any extension of amnesty to illegal aliens. We call for the use of U.S. troops to protect the states against invasion.
We oppose bilingual ballots. We insist that those who wish to take part in the electoral process and governance of this nation be required to read and comprehend basic English as a precondition of citizenship. We support English as the official language for all governmental business by the United States.
Strange that they call themselves the Constitution party yet they want to change it by removing birthright citizenship.
