Since the Patriot Watchdog stopped by to comment on my blog I thought I’d grab a video he posted on You Tube and talk about it. Here Terry Anderson refers to migrant children as “brats” and claims they are illiterate in English and Spanish. This attitude of his is why there’s a comment below the video referring to Mexicans (not-“illegal” immigrants – yes there are many from other countries) as roaches and also states we should shoot them.He also claims they “take” jobs. This is one of the strangest things I hear, because I’ve been working since I turned 16 and I’ve never been able to ‘take’ a job. Usually I have to interview first and then the company decides whether or not to accept me as an employee. Furthermore migrants don’t lower the wage – employers do.
These angry mobs, that are indeed anti-migrant if they refer to Numbers USA or FAIR, need to find some compassion and realize that the US has been oppressing countries for too long and that’s the problem. Don’t you find it strange that we put Saddam into power and now we’re punishing the Iraqi people a second time by invading to remove him. Terry Anderson says this is your time to be patriotic by hating migrants. Well, I say this is our time to be patriotic not only to the U.S., but the world by working to end the suffering around the globe. I don’t care who you are or what you say – hate can only breed hate.
This rally was named after Dustin Inman who was killed by an undocumented migrant. The driver did have a valid U.S. drivers license. Like many citizens Gonzalo Harrell-Gonzalez was speeding and as happens tragically everyday to many people, he ran into the Inman’s car which was stopped at a light. So many people refuse to follow even the most basic traffic laws such as speeding or not talking on a cell phone in this country – yes this is a problem and it won’t be solved by stopping undocumented migrants. There are fatal accidents everyday, which is horrible, but this family’s desire to rally against migrants will do nothing to make this world a better place.
The issues driving undocumented migrants into the US – and they come from all over the world even though groups such as these would have you believe they’re all from Mexico – is what we need to address. Walls, hate speech and unjust laws will not fix this issue – laws and never fixed any other issue.
