Border Fire Report – “Try McDonald’s Deportation Special, With Extra Salsa–To Go!”

Somehow Border Fire Report gets picked up by Google News which may lead some people to believe they are just another unbiased site of news and information. Unfortunately, as you can gather from the name, they are focused on pushing their views against undocumented migrants.

The title for their latest piece is We are not being sent to the back of the bus we are being kicked off which gives us the oft used comparison of today’s issue with immigration and the civil rights movement of forty years ago. However, it is the American people (or whites if you care to read into it) who are being treated as second class citizens. This claim couldn’t be more misguided and their use of this struggle to fuel hatred on their site is truly disgusting.  This ‘news’ site tries to do is convince readers that we are all heading into an abyss and it’s all the fault of undocumented migrants. Nobody likes the analogy, but it cannot be refuted that this same tactic was used in Germany over sixty years ago to much success. It’s simply playing on people’s fears. In the U.S. we have the fear that our comforts will be stripped away and we’ll all fall into severe poverty.

The reason I wanted to write about BFR though is because of their coverage of the McDonald’s fine in recent news. While not all BFR articles take the time to bash Hispanics this one certainly does. Here’s the title of that article:

Try McDonald’s Deportation Special, With Extra Salsa–To Go!

The title alone is quite terrible and doesn’t represent responsible journalism to me and the words underneath are no better. John Lillpop, a writer for Border Fire Report calls this piece satire which will surely afford him a spot at The New Yorker.

American citizens are generally aware of the fact that eating at McDonald’s can pose a serious risk to one’s health owing to the salt, fat, sugar, and carbohydrate content of food prepared there.

But how many Americans realize that dining under the Golden Arches might also expose one to ID theft and financial ruin?

In this case we have a company being charged for hiring undocumented workers, many of which were allowed to return home from what I could gather. This is slightly different than the fate of those who were caught in the Postville raid. In the McDonald’s case there was a hefty fine, but I still have not found any confirmation that jail time will be served to anyone involved. It seems once again that if you have the money you can buy the ‘get out of jail free’ card. For Lillpop this episode becomes a means to further spread the fear that his buddies at Border Fire Report like to set ablaze in the driest American minds.

That crime was bad enough, but Gillespie and Moore went the extra mile by providing invading criminals with false identities and social security numbers belonging to Americans!

People working a job seen unpleasant by many people, but one that does provide a means of living are “invading criminals” meant to make you think they want to kill you. Lillpop says these “criminals” want to steal your identity when it’s the franchise that handed over identification. Somehow Lillpop thinks that migrants are criminal masterminds and are using your information to become wealthy beyond belief. All the while they continue to go to work at McDonald’s to fool us all.

Next the article celebrates these migrant’s return home to their “third world nations of origin.” This statement is exactly what’s wrong with America and why we’re in the mess we’re in. It’s a simple inability to care for others. No matter what Lillpop thinks about undocumented migrants or “illegal” immigration his celebrating the fact that others live in “third world” nations is crass and quite sickening. This type of sentiment is often seen displayed by White Supremacist groups at anti-illegal rallies as “3rd world immigrants make third world nations.”

If that’s not enough John gives Hispanic people one last little kick at the end of his article:

This bizarre episode simply begs for a new McDonald’s motto: How about,

“Try a Spicy McDonald’s Taco, With Extra Salsa–to Go!”

  1. Speaking of terrible journalism, this review reeks of just that!

Did the author even bother to visit the link referenced in Lillpop’s article? For the benefit of the one or two people who might actually visit this site, that link is provided below:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,384521,00.html

American Humanity ‘s anti-rule of law bias is immediately obvious with the author’s use of the term “undocumented workers.” The correct term for the arrested workers is “illegal aliens.”

Repeat: Arrested workers! These are people who have illegally crossed our borders and who continue to ignore our laws.

That distinction is profound because “undocumented” implies that the workers are simply missing a piece of paper or two, probably an unnecessary form required by a federal government that hates brown people.

The truth is that “illegal aliens” have deliberately avoided the criminal, medical, credit, and background checks required to assure that said individuals are worthy of being admitted to the American family.

We know NOTHING about these people! With anywhere from 12-38 million illegal aliens here, a severe violation of US homeland security is involved.

Next, the author states that Lillpop’s use of the term “invading criminals” is meant to make you think they want to kill you.

However, Lillpop does not use the word kill at all, nor does he imply that illegal aliens are potential killers. This is another bit of mindless propaganda used by the author to spread baseless fear about those who simply want US laws to be enforced.

Then the author says, “Lillpop says these ‘criminals’ want to steal your identity when it’s the franchise that handed over identification.”

The exact language from Lillpop’s story is, “That crime (hiring illegal aliens) was bad enough, but Gillespie and Moore went the extra mile by providing invading criminals with false identities and social security numbers belonging to Americans.”

Gillespie and Moore are the franchise. Lillpop clearly identifies the ID theft as crimes committed by powerful people (Gillespie and Moore) in the franchise!

Your author is clearly a non-professional who is more suited for tabloid work than serious commentary!

  2. It’s funny how you come here and bang me for reading into Lillpop’s language and the first thing you do, is what so many others in your position do, claim I’m anti-law. As intelligent as you appear you may understand that Americans have the right to fight against laws that are unjust: however, that does not make them “anti-rule of law.” I support many U.S. laws, but none that fail to recognize basic human rights. I suppose not that FISA is all jazzed up you’re its biggest fan.

Repeat: Arrested workers! These are people who have illegally crossed our borders and who continue to ignore our laws.

Ok, so we know they’re here without permission. We also know that it was the employers that gave them false identification. So what laws did they continue to ignore?

You cite my saying Lillpop implies that these “invading criminals” want to kill you as incorrect because the story doesn’t say that. Clearly I stated that the term is meant to imply my assertion. I never stated that he actually said that – he doesn’t have to .

So you’re saying that it’s not the workers that will create the “financial ruin”, but the bosses who can afford to shell out $1M dollars to keep themselves out of jail. What would these guys want with your money? How will this lead to financial ruin and how many Americans are now in financial ruin as a result of this franchise’s actions?

You certainly put me in my place; yet, you fail to reference the obvious racism in this article where Lillpop gleefully comes up with expressions about “tacos” and “salsa” while rejoicing in the fact that others will be sent back to “third world countries.” My writing may need some work, but Lillpop’s ethics and morality are in dire need of correction.

I enjoy your statement that we must check to see if people are “worthy” to be Americans. Surely this type of check was not done so long ago when white people flooded the continent, but we know that all white people are “worthy” and all Hispanics should just go back to their “third world” countries.

I’m sure Lillpop is glad you stopped by to defend him, but you can’t wash away the hatred of Hispanic people in this article. If you’re coming by for a new comment please explain to me how these anti-Hispanic comments are acceptable.

  3. Hello again. My comments to your comments about my comments follow:

    You Said:

    My Reply:

Of course, you have a right to fight laws that are unjust. You do not, however, have a right to obstruct or otherwise impede the execution of laws that have been properly codified.

I assume that your remark means that you will fight any amnesty proposed for illegal aliens? After all, millions of decent, intelligent people around the globe follow the rules and wait in line to become Americans.

Therefore, granting amnesty to illegal aliens would be an unjust reward (law) to those who “cut” in front of others. You know the poor devils that wait in line for their turn to come.

Welcome to the anti-amnesty battalion, brother symsess!

By the way, EVERY nation has a basic responsibility to its citizens to protect that nation’s borders and sovereignty and to enforce immigration laws.

Those who believe that such acts of self-preservation are wrong because they “fail to recognize basic human rights” are, in my humble opinion, anti-law!

    You Said:

    My Reply:

With all due respect, you mischaracterize the situation.

Crossing the borders into America is not about seeking “permission.” It is about being subjected to the background investigation THAT ALL OTHER PEOPLE WHO WANT TO COME TO THE US MUST ENDURE!

This nation is at war and yet we have allowed 12-38 million unknown people to “invade” or nation. NO OTHER NATION IN THE WORLD WOULD ALLOW THAT MANY FOREIGNERS, NOT SKILLED IN THE HOME LANGUAGE, TO CROSS ILLEGALLY INTO SAID NATION AND TAKE UP UNLAWFUL RESIDENCE!

They are here ILLEGALLY, which means that by their very presence, they continue to ignore immigration laws, such as IRCA of 1986! That law, by the way, identifies such people as ILLEGAL ALIENS! Google it if you doubt my veracity.

Illegal aliens have no right to be in the US.

There is NO BASIC HUMAN RIGHT FOR FOREIGNERS TO BE IN AMERICA WITHOUT SATISFYING ALL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY THE SOVEREIGN AUTHORITY OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT!

In addition, many drive illegally, others receive public services meant for citizens. Some even vote, a right reserved for citizens.

In addition, on average, about 12 American citizens are killed every day by illegal aliens. See link below:

    My Reply:

My exact words: “However, Lillpop does not use the word kill at all, nor does he imply that illegal aliens are potential killers.”

How is it that you can “imply” with impunity, but Lillpop is not afforded the same luxury?

    You Said:

What would these guys want with your money? How will this lead to financial ruin and how many Americans are now in financial ruin as a result of this franchise’s actions?

    My Reply:

I am saying simply this: The greatest crime committed by the executives was to engage in ID theft and to pass on vital private information about Americans (social security numbers) to illegal aliens.

You had said, “Lillpop says these ‘criminals’ want to steal your identity when it’s the franchise that handed over identification.” Lillpop said no such thing as he clearly identified the executives as the perpetrators of ID theft.

    You Said:

    My Reply:

My response was not an attempt to put anybody “in his place.” My purpose was to set the record straight on Lillpop’s article, which, please remember, was satirical!

As to your charge that Lillpop’s piece is replete with racism, I have re-read Lillpop’s article several times and see no reference whatsoever to race, ethnicity, or even nation of origin.

He does close with a reference to tacos and third world nations. However, that is consistent with what is generally known about the huge illegal alien problem in America: The overwhelming majority are Hispanics, who come to America from third-world nations! That is fact!

Reciting fact is not racist, especially in a satire piece!

    You Said:

I enjoy your statement that we must check to see if people are “worthy” to be Americans. Surely this type of check was not done so long ago when white people flooded the continent, but we know that all white people are “worthy” and all Hispanics should just go back to their “third world” countries.

    My Reply:

I am certain that Native Americans would have used any number of reasons to find white people unworthy and would have kicked said folks out, or would have killed them.

Are you contending that Native Americans would have been justified in deciding who could enter America, but that American citizens are not? That smacks of high hypocrisy, fellow!

    You Said:

I’m sure Lillpop is glad you stopped by to defend him, but you can’t wash away the hatred of Hispanic people in this article. If you’re coming by for a new comment please explain to me how these anti-Hispanic comments are acceptable.

    My Reply:

As I stated earlier, I find no reference to race, ethnicity, or nation of origin in Lillpop’s satire, nor do I see hatred of Hispanic people.

As is the case with millions of American these days, Lillpop is fed up with the invasion of America and the refusal of our government to execute their constitutional responsibilities.

Lillpop is clearly not an open borders or pro-illegal alien proponent. But that makes him pro-law, not a racist!

    Summary:

I believe that your heart is in the right place, symsess. I also believe that you are dead wrong about Lillpop’s article and on the issue of illegal aliens.

  4. There is quite often reference to “waiting in line.” Where exactly is the line? I don’t believe there is one. In fact many from Latin American countries are not included in the green card lottery.

Stating something is satire does not make it ok to use racist statements. His use of Hispanic, mostly Mexican, references is not only racist, but quite ignorant. Many undocumented migrants come from other parts of the world as well as many Central and South American countries. I don’t know if Lillpop is racist or not, but he may want to change his language unless he likes being seen as one.

As an intelligent person you must understand that when one writes “taco” images will appear in one’s mind. Lillpop knows this as well. I understand that countries are labeled “third world” meaning they are underdeveloped; however, celebrating a person being sent back into poverty is classless and heartless. Is this what America has turned into? A country where we live so far above everyone else and we should laugh at their suffering? I hope not.

I applaud that these McDonald’s owners were fined, but they should have to suffer jail time like the hundreds in Postville that were forced to serve time rather than just being deported.

I cannot change how we arrived here nor can I bring back the people that have died because of it; however, I can have a little humility. I can also try to maintain my sanity while people like Lillpop try to beat me over the head with articles meant to conjure fear of those that are simply here to work.

Finally, I don’t find World Net Daily to be a credible source of information. The best line from that article is “If those numbers are correct.” If?

Thanks for being civil. We don’t agree, but that’s just the way things go – and no I don’t support criminality, but I do believe human have the right to find work though it would be nice if we could support other countries, without weapons, rather than laugh about their status as third world.

  5. As to waiting in line, if there is none, why then do illegal aliens not try to come here legally?

After reading the article yet again, I find no reference to Mexico, Mexican, or any nation of origin.

As to concern about being seen as a racist, I rather doubt that Lillpop is very concerned about that. He is counting on intelligent people like you to not misuse the term.

Besides, I would caution you against reckless branding of someone just because you disagree with his opinions.

Again, Lillpop did not “celebrate” anything but the fact that the US government enforced the law!

Remember, there are 12-38 MILLION illegal aliens here and anytime that number is reduced, all Americans should celebrate!

As far as suffering by the McDonald’s executives, we have finally found something we can agree on. They should be imprisoned and driven out of business!

As to conjuring fear of those who are simply here to work, the point has been missed again. Those illegal aliens take American jobs and cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars a year. They have ignored our borders and laws,

The fact that you do not find World Net Daily credible says more about your bias and closed mind than it does about that site. I feel that same incredulity when some one tells me that its OK for 12-38 million people
to come here illegally because it’s simply to work!

Thank you for being civil as well. That is what America is all about, and that is why we must work to preserve our culture, language, and form of self-governance.

I will not return to the site as we have talked the issue to death!

    Adios?

  6. Thank you for this article.

It should be noted that Vdare — a particularly egregious white supremasist site site that advocates for segragation and the creation of a “white homeland” is also picked up on a Google News search as if it were a legitameate news source. If I ever get cautht up on my studies, I should look into how that works.

  7. You may not return, but I will say that he did indeed rejoice that these men were being sent back to “third world countries.”

You know what this article’s driving force is and it really makes little sense to take the time to explain it. “Tacos” are Mexican and many misguided people think that all “illegal aliens” are from Mexico simply because that’s the country we border with. Lillpop is indeed exhibiting racism in this article, though I won’t go so far as to call him one.

No person ‘takes’ a job. It is given – so deal with the people holding the candy and money dangling it about. Our borders weren’t meant to keep people out who want to work and contribute.
