Justifying Luis Ramirez’s Death Pt 2 – PA Pundits

Have you ever tried to tell someone they needed change a thing or two about the way they’re acting, treating others, etc. only to have them start attacking you for things that had nothing to do with the original request? Sure you have – we all have. This is called discrediting your opponent to discredit their claims and credibility to make the claims. One example would be a person who’s been convicted of money laundering calling another person a litter bug for throwing trash on the street. That person might say “who are you to call me a litter bug you felon!”

Well, when it comes to racism this tactic is used as well. PA Pundits, another blog, attempted to show that Luis Ramirez was killed because he is an undocumented worker and shouldn’t be here in the first place. In a new post they continue trying to discredit the claim that this was racially motivated when it quite obviously was.

In this new post they’re making statement about the witness, Arielle Garcia, because of the age she had children which is odd considering so many had children at a young age in American history and of course still do today. Don’t judge a mother by when she gives birth, but how she raises the child.

They’re also trying to blame the surgeon and who knows who else.

I’m about to walk out the door so I’m just going to point you to this post and I’ll get into more later, but just note that the person who wrote this actively corresponds with white supremacists in a local anti-“illegal” immigration group’s guest book. So don’t be surprised they’re trying to discredit any Hispanic in this tragic story.

Illegal Alien Beat-Down Is Not The Racial Murder MSM Claims It To Be – PA Pundits
August 2, 2008

Luis Eduardo Ramirez Zavala, 25-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was involved in a fight with several teenaged boys in Shenandoah, PA on July 12. While news reports vary based on the political tilt of the medium involved, there is a way to find out exactly what happened that fateful night.

According to most MSM accounts of the events that ended Ramirez Zavala’s life, six teenaged football-playing males attacked a Mexican man simply because he was of Hispanic origin. While this would be a horrible case of obvious hate, but it’s even more horrible that the real story is not being printed. The MSM’s lack of truth is prodding more hateful Caucasian-smearing rhetoric than already exists in Shenandoah and other places.

We have available the affidavits of probable cause filed against the accused teens. We also have an eyewitness account available online in audio and transcript form. It seems that a lot of pieces are missing from the version everyone has heard. Let’s take a look:

Arielle Garcia, 17-year-old married mother of a two-year-old child, (an obvious epitome of virtue) swears this was a racially-motivated beat-down. Let’s view her words for proof:

  1. Greetings,

As I said before and will continue to reitterate that on behalf of my organization we extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of the late mr. Ramirez. no one deserves to be made the victim of any violent crime no matter what their legal status or ethnic makeup may be. This was a heinous crime and the perpetrators of it deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. We live in a civilized world and we should all act accordingly. Though my opinion may differ from others, I couldn’t care a less. i support and advocate peaceful and lawful resolutions to the problems facing this country and absolutely loathe any act that results in violence on any scale! Anyone that agrees that this individual deserved to be beaten to death is sick in the head and I implore them to receive mental help at once. This in fact was a sad occurrence and i do hope that on either side of this arguement that our differences can be solved peacefully rather than acts of violence. Thank you and take care

  2. Well it’s sad that PA Pundits is trying to vilify a man that was the victim of a brutal attack simply in an attempt to make these teens look like they were doing a service to us all.

All necessary social change, no matter what side you’re on, can come from peaceful protests and discussions. Sadly some of the anti-immigrant and anti-illegal immigrant groups encourage violence through forcing the discussion on Latinos with little effort to differentiate between citizen, legal residents, and undocumented migrants. For anyone to believe that racism was not a part of our history and is not still alive today is simply head-in-the-dirt irresponsibility.

Given the people in your guest book, including the person who attempted to vilify Ramirez and subvert and deny the racism involved I’m losing hope for your group. If anger leads you then you’re in danger of succumbing to the intoxication it brings. These teens are living proof of the dangers of this intoxication physically, mentally and spiritually.

Thanks for the comment and I hope all is well.

  3. Often times it is not what is said but by whom it is said that governs the veracity one assigns to the statement in question. A look at papundits web site is illustrative.

Luis Ramirez’s beating death was an abomination that wounds every right-thinking American. It was the stuff of facism and thuggery regardless of whom the victim was. Nothing justifies murder. Nothing justifies what happened to Luis Ramirez. It should be condemned in the strongest terms and those accused of the crime left to be judged by the courts without any community support. Anyone who was there and did not try to stop the beating was wrong, just plain wrong!

  4. “The jurors here [are] sending the message that you can brutally beat a person, without regard to their life, and get away with it, continue with your life uninterrupted”
